Swivelling in the Salish Sea
DCD Line Swivels are traditionally used for pulling cable to ensure cables do not twist during installation. However, over the years we have come across several other uses which have resulted in new products during this time frame eg. break-away swivels/connectors. Some of these uses have been to display art work in art galleries, suspending circus apparatus, and various
marine applications from securing mooring buoys to log boom nets and wave energy.[rev_slider sliderSalishSea]
Our swivels are made from 416 Stainless Steel, which surprisingly do well in salt water environments. See pictures above of one of our swivels that has been in the ocean for over a year. It still rotates freely even with all the muscles and barnacles growing on its external points. We also offer our swivels and breakaway connectors in 316 stainless steel when special ordered if you feel your application requires more protection against salt water environments. Always be aware of proper safe working loads for your application.
Be sure to stay tuned an out for a new style of break-away swivels in the weeks to come!
